Ciné-club #1: Berthe Morisot

19th century, 1865. This film is about the fate of a woman who was to become the first professional female painter and Impressionist.

Berthe Morisot is 25 and dreams of making a living from her paintings, escaping from marriage, and staying with her sister Edma forever. Her parents disapprove, and want her to live a life more in line with that of the time.
Berthe meets Manet, a huge French painter of the 19th, and it changes her way of seing the world.
