LITTLE FRENCH CINEMA


Oldham - March to november 2023


From March to November 2023, we are delighted to be partnering with Little French Cinema, a group of enthusiasts for all things French in Oldham, to facilitate the screening of some of the films from their 2023 cinema programme.

Their season is made of five French-language films, both classic and contemporary.

Screenings take place on a large screen in Oldham Library's Performance Space on Thursday evenings. All films are in French with English subtitles. The programme is available below. 

AFM members are entitled to two tickets for the price of one upon production of a membership card at the door.

TICKETS: A limited number of tickets will be available to purchase on the door at £5 per film (cash only) or you can book a season ticket for all five films for £20 by phoning 07742 982 632 before 17 February 2023. Tickets can be booked in advance for individual films at £4 plus booking fee through Eventbrite.

"A shy maths graduate takes a holiday in Dinard before starting his first job. He hopes his sort-of girlfriend will join him, but soon strikes up a friendship with another girl working in town. She in turn introduces him to a further young lady who fancies him.

Thus, the quiet young lad finds he is having to do some tricky juggling in territory new to him."

La fine fleur / The Rose Maker

"Eve Vernet was the largest rose grower in the region. Her business, though, is now on the verge of bankruptcy, about to be bought out by a powerful competitor. In addition, Véra, her faithful secretary, has just hired three new staff members without any gardening skills."
