AFM Move FAQ

Some of you may have noticed the unused space we currently have, in particular on the first floor. The building is also ageing and we know it isn't conducive to great learning.

Coupled with the high rent of our hypercentral location, we decided to look for a new home so as to focus our time and resources on what really matters to us.

What matters to us is delivering affordable, high-quality French language lessons and francophone culture to Manchester.

We will be in our new premises from the 19^th October. You will find us at:

Virginia House
5-7 Great Ancoats Street
Manchester M4 5AD
1st Floor

This means that our Autumn session will be staggered as follows:

- The first part (from 21^st September to 15^th October) will take place in Portland Street, at our current premises
- The second part (from 19^th October to 12^th November) will take place at our new address in Virginia House
- 8-week courses will start in Portland Street and continue in Virginia House from the 19^th October onwards.

Please note there is no change for now. We will continue to welcome you at our current premises at 125 Portland Street, Manchester, until the 15^th October.

For all the courses for sale on our website, we will very clearly outline which classes will take place in Portland Street and which will take place in Virginia House, so you can know upfront where your classes will take place.

We truly appreciate you bearing with us as we undertake a move in the midst of our busiest session of the year!

The new premises are just an 8-minute walk from Piccadilly Gardens and are easily accessible, with a lift available to reach the first floor.

Your new AFM will feature:

• 6 modern classrooms

• A brand-new teaching environment

• The same welcoming atmosphere and high-quality learning experience.

While our address is changing, our mission is not. You can continue to enjoy:

• French courses online, onsite and at Altrincham Library

• TEF examinations

• DELF/DALF examinations

• Cultural events and activities throughout the year

• Teaching from our team of expert native French teachers

As always, we remain Manchester's home of French language & culture.

We would like to reassure you all that our course and exam prices will not change as a result of this move.

As a registered charity, our goal has always been to make French language and culture as accessible as possible. We remain committed to keeping our programmes affordable while continuing to offer high-quality teaching, cultural events and recognised examinations for learners of all backgrounds.

We hope it won't! Apart from changing locations if you are enrolled on one of our 8-week course, we hope it will be a seamless transition. We are committed to bringing you the same high quality learning we have always prided ourselves on.

Our public opening hours remain unchanged!
