Un singe en hiver

Date: 28 Jan 2022, 6:15pm - 7:15pm GMT London, Lisbon

By Henri Verneuil (1962, Comedy-drama, N/A)

Fri. 28 January 2022 - from 6:15pm to 7:15pm - French Film Club

This classic French comedy-drama marks the meeting of two French cinema “monstres sacrés”: Jean Gabin and Jean-Paul Belmondo.

In a small seaside town in Normandy, two men dreaming of far-off places meet by chance. Gabin - an ex-Marine who fought in China in WWII, now a married hotel keeper who has vowed never to drink again - and Belmondo, a young lover dreaming of Spain who has come to the town to visit his daughter in boarding school. For two days, they try to escape their everyday reality … with drunkenness.
