About the movie 🎬
Héloïse has been recalled from a convent, following the suicide of her sister who was to marry.
It is planned that Héloïse can be sent in her sister's place to marry her Milanese aristocrat fiancé. He demands to see a painting of the prospective bride first. But Héloïse has no desire to be married, and has already defeated one painter who left without ever seeing her face.
Héloïse’s countess mother engages artist Marianne, who arrives on the pretext of being a chaperone and companion, but must study and paint her subject in secret - looking without appearing to look…
