Sketched on a large white sheet somewhere between Montmartre and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Jean-Jacques Sempé and René Goscinny bring to life a cheerful, mischievous little boy: le Petit Nicolas. Between friendship, quarrels, scuffles, games, mischief, and punishments galore, Nicolas experiences a childhood full of joy and learning. As the story unfolds, the boy slips into his creators’ studio and amusingly calls out to them. Sempé and Goscinny tell him about how they met, their friendship, but also their careers, their secrets, and their own childhood.
This film is offered in French with English subtitles. This free screening is offered with the support of the Institut
