A princess (Catherine Deneuve), advised by her fairy (Delphine Seyrig), refuses her father’s (Jean Marais) love by running away, hidden in a donkey skin, which she sometimes leaves when she is alone in her hut. A prince (Jacques Perrin) discovers her and falls in love with her. A fairy-tale Charles Perrault revisited by Jacques Demy which is a treat for the end-of-year festivities!
